Thank you for choosing to open your home to one of our adoptable animals! Bringing a new animal into your home is an exciting opportunity for you, your family, and the pet you choose. Please review our adoption philosophy and resources to ensure you are prepared to begin the search and ultimately bring your new pet home. Compared to lighter-colored animals, they are significantly less likely to be adopted and more likely to be euthanized as a result.

The Greater Charlotte Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) serves the animals and people of Charlotte, NC and the surrounding counties. We are an autonomous organization not affiliated with or supported by any other SPCAs, including the ASPCA. The Greater Charlotte SPCA is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit.

From doe-eyed and cuddly couch potatoes to floppy-eared hiking buds, the Humane Society of Charlotte has all sorts of doggies and cats waiting for their new homes. We do several events throughout the year to promote awareness to Black Dog Syndrome.The largest of these events is Paws in the Park, which annually draws thousands of attendees.
